Some of the best-known names in the world of missions today serve as
advisors and board of reference for Paraclete. You’ll recognize many of
them, we’re sure. We are honored that these outstanding people are willing
to lend their counsel and endorsements to our ministries.
Luis Bush was born in Argentina but also grew up in Brazil and the
U.K. As a pastor in Central America, he conceived and founded COMIBAM, a
major impetus for sending out many Latin Americans as missionaries. Later he
served as president of Partners International, where he created the
well-known concept of the “10-40 Window.” He was founder and CEO of the
AD2000 and Beyond movement. Now he leads the “World Inquiry” project.
James Engel, creator of the “Engel Scale” for measuring levels of
evangelism, is founder of Development Associates International, and retired
distinguished professor in the graduate programs of Eastern University,
where he founded the Center for Organizational Excellence. He has ministered
worldwide as a consultant and leadership development expert and is well
known for his many books and writing on world evangelization.
Jack Frizen, after missionary service in the Philippines, was for
more than a quarter century the Executive Director of IFMA
(Interdenominational Foreign Missions Association), which was the first and
is still one of the largest associations of mission agencies in North
America. Since retiring from the IFMA, he has served several years as a
senior associate with Pioneers mission.
John Kyle, after years of field service with Wycliffe Bible
Translators, became head of Mission to the World, the international
ministries of Presbyterian Church in America. Later, on the staff of Inter
Varsity, John directed several triennial “Urbana” student missions
conferences; then he returned to again lead Mission to the World. Since
“retirement” John has been Senior Vice President of the EFMA.
Paul McKaughan, following a career as a missionary to Brazil, has for
the past decade been Executive Director of EFMA (Evangelical Fellowship of
Mission Agencies) which represents almost 120 member agencies and tens of
thousands of foreign missionaries. Previously he directed the 1989 worldwide
“Lausanne Committee” conference in Manila.
Jim Montgomery is founder and Chairman of DAWN Ministries (Discipling
a Whole Nation) and a well-known author and speaker. He is an expert on
saturation evangelism and church planting. Before founding DAWN Ministries,
Jim served many years as a missionary to the Philippines, where he conceived
the DAWN approach.
Luis Palau, originally from Argentina, is the well-known mass
evangelist who preaches throughout much of the world, both in Spanish and
English. He has pioneered new-style evangelism to the youth culture and has
probably preached to more people than anyone except Billy Graham. Luis also
served several years as executive director of Overseas Crusades, now OC
International. |
