Paraclete Mission Group empowers its staff to continue their own vision for ministry instead of asking them to simply fill a position. This gives staff a chance to serve as consultants, to develop new programs, and to “feel affirmed and valued,” said Paraclete associates Dale and Carmen Phillips.
“In most organizations you join them to help them fulfill their mission,” said Carmen Phillips. “At Paraclete, you join them and they streamline the logistics and cheerlead you in the mission God has placed before you. It is a paradigm shift.”
The Phillips served overseas for many years with a different mission organization, but a side project grew until it was a full-time job by itself. Joining Paraclete gave them logistical support for their ministry while letting them maintain the freedom to choose this new role. The Phillips believe that serving in ministry can be more than giving—it can be an invitation to be more connected to God, with a heart awakened and our life stories understood and redeemed. Their Deep Community Experience provides a process for ministry staff and leaders to embrace that invitation.
