My name is Caitlyn and I am from Ohio. I am a proud product of the public schools and give constant gratitude for the opportunity I had in middle and high school to take Spanish classes. Since watching Dora as a girl, I had always wanted to become fluent in the language.
One of my teachers in high school really encouraged us to take risks and to apply the language outside of the classroom and shared her passion for the culture, which spurred my desire to study Spanish and Education at Wheaton College.
This then led me to many wonderful experiences, including a semester of studying abroad in Queretaro, Mexico, which is where I landed a few years after graduation to be with my husband, Pablo. Who would have thought a girl from Medina, Ohio would up in Queretaro, Mexico? It wasn’t in my original plan, but the Lord has gracefully guided my life to be here in Queretaro, where I have lived happily for the past three years.
Here in Queretaro, Pablo and I serve together in our local church, Iglesia Biblica Cristo Salva, as leaders of the Young Adult Ministry. After attending Wheaton and working for The Navigators summer camp ministry (shoutout to Eagle Lake!), I grew an affinity for faith-based work.
Now, with experience of working in both public and private schools around the US and in Mexico, this fondness has led me to work with Paraclete as the Assistant to the CEO, Tim Bedford.
I am passionate about community and connection and am excited to grow within this new position!
