ANNOUNCING!

The Paraclete Mission Group announces the selection of a new CEO. After a long, diligent search, Janet Seegren, Chair of the Paraclete Board of Directors, makes the following announcement:

Two smiling middle-aged couples standing with interlocked arms in front of a fireplaceI am pleased to let you and all the Paraclete family know that the Board of Directors has selected Tim Bedford to serve as the next Chief Executive Officer for Paraclete Mission Group. Tim has been a Paraclete associate since 2020 and a missionary to Mexico since 2007. He lives in Querétaro, Mexico, with his wife, Tona, who serves as Paraclete administrative specialist, and their three boys, Jack (16), Ben (14), and Jonathan (9). Read Tim’s short Bio below.

Many of you are aware that Glen Volkhardt, who has served so well as CEO for 17 years, has decided to put down the responsibilities of this position to concentrate on personal ministry goals. We are glad that he will remain a part of PMG as an associate.

The Board believes that it is very important that Glen and Tim work side-by-side for a period of time to provide a smooth transition in leadership. The transition will begin in mid-September with Tim in the position of CEO-Elect and Glen still serving as CEO. The transition process will be completed and Tim will assume the title and full responsibilities of CEO not later than January 1, 2026, perhaps earlier.

The Board is excited about this new era of leadership for Paraclete, ready to see how God leads in the future.

Glen Volkhardt says:

Headshot of middle aged man“Shelly and I love Paraclete, and we have every confidence that the Lord will use Tim to lead the organization into the future. We don’t plan to go far. We would like to continue serving as Paraclete associates after helping Tim transition to his new role.”

Tim Bedford says:

Headshot of middle aged man“I feel so honored and humbled to be able to serve in the role of CEO with Paraclete. Tona and I love the vision and values Paraclete represents through ‘coming alongside’ others and the unity of our associates through the Spirit. We truly feel like Paraclete is our family! We are excited for what the Lord has for us as his servants and what He may do through Paraclete in the coming years – may it be for His glory!”

Tim Bedford Short Bio

Tim Bedford was born in San Bernardino, California, and was raised just north of Dallas, Texas. He and his wife, Tonantzi (Tona), have been married for 18 years and have three children: Jack (16), Ben (14), and Jonathan (9). Tim grew up in a believing family and accepted the Lord as his Savior at age 5. An unexpected mission trip to Mexico in 2003 called him into full-time missions, igniting his passion for the Mexican people and the Spanish language.

Tim earned a BA in International Studies from the University of North Texas (2007), and he also holds an MA in Cross-Cultural Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary (2019). He and Tona, married in Tamazunchale, Mexico, in 2007 and immediately joined their first missions team through SERVE International in Monterrey, Mexico.

Tim completed a 1½ year training program with SERVE, then returned to international mission work in Queretaro, Mexico, with SERVE until 2015. He continued in ministry in Queretaro through Latin American Ministry Partners until 2020, when he joined Paraclete Mission Group. Tim currently serves as a full-time Paraclete associate.

The Bedford’s ministry focuses on planting churches, training strong, spirit-led leaders, and developing church ministries to contribute to the worldwide Great Commission. In his free time, Tim enjoys cycling, running, reading, and spending quality time with his family.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
