Angelina Velasco
After serving in the mission field in Mexico for twenty-one years, God
has led me stateside to come alongside Hispanic church planters in
support of their calling. As a Paraclete Associate, I plan to assist
Pastor Juan Hoppert and Maribel Flores de Hoppert in establishing their
three-year-old Spanish-speaking church, Iglesia Esperanza Viva (Living
Hope Church) in East Burlington, North Carolina.
I’ll pray for Pastor Juan and his family and assist them with teaching
God’s Word and in prayer, fellowship, evangelism, and discipleship
activities.
The church is composed of young believers from Mexico, Honduras, El
Salvador, Colombia, and Venezuela. I’ve traveled to many of these
countries.
I understand the language and culture of Latin Americans. I plan to use
my spiritual gift of teaching to share God’s Word, spur believers to
grow in their faith, and demonstrate how to love God daily and live
according to Biblical principles. I also plan to help them navigate
everyday living issues, such as health care and American culture, as
needed.
