Beth Mason
Beth has been in full time ministry since 2006. She started with Cru Inner City, doing work on the South Side of Chicago running an after-school program and training others how to run them. Then in 2013 the Lord lead her to the North Side of Chicago to work in the “Little India” neighborhood. She continued to running an after school program and train others in cross cultural ministry.
In 2011, her mentor became a Spiritual Director. This inspired Beth to explore more deeply the Lord’s contemplative ways. While heavily involved in full-time ministry to a fast-paced society, she felt herself drawn to practices like silence and solitude (going on silent retreats at least twice a year) and weekly Sabbaths. She hungered for more silent time with the Lord. That led her to develop new rhythms that helped her slow down, listen, and reflect on the movements of God. In 2021 Beth went through a training program to become a Spiritual Director herself and has been meeting with others since.
Beth has experienced ministry burnout herself. So, the Lord has given her a heart to serve those in ministry who need to learn the unhurried rhythms of grace that Christ offers. She provides Spiritual Direction and trains in contemplative practices. She has a creative bent and also offers workshops that help ministers and others connect with God through art. Additionally, she has guided individuals and groups in silent retreats and desires to do this more.
Beth is based in Chicago and lives there with her husband, Eric, and cats (Bagheera and Luvbug). She in her down time she enjoys hiking, reading, Zumba, and art. Though raised in southern California, she loves the four seasons of the mid-west, even snow!
