Carey & Sharon Owen
Throughout our lives, we can see God’s hand uniquely preparing us for what we are now doing. Our parents were Christian workers in South America (Peru and Venezuela) so we had a good start on language and some cross-cultural experience. We spent the first few years of ministry outside of Chicago beginning a Hispanic outreach in a local church. Then in 1990, we moved to Spain where we come alongside new believers and not yet believers.
We work alongside the evangelical church in Seville, Spain to share the Gospel and help each person with whom we connect to grow in faith. A normal week’s activity includes teaching English to Spanish professionals, leading weekly Bible studies and gatherings or meeting one-on-one with people to help them take the next step in their faith journey. We train church leaders and teachers, and disciple in various settings. We cooperate with other Spanish organizations that also reach out to specific communities like a sex trafficking rescue ministry and food/clothing/toy collection for needy families. It is our desire to strengthen and disciple and train Christian leaders and their families to establish communities of faith in Seville, Spain.
