David Johnson
David Johnson was born to missionary parents in Ecuador, South America, granting him dual citizenship in both Ecuador and the United States. He lived there until completing high school at the age of 18. After that, he earned a BA in Social Work and an MA in Social Sciences with an emphasis on leadership development from Azusa Pacific University. He obtained a doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University in 2021.
From 1972 until 1996, he served extensively in various Hispanic and athletic outreach ministries. He became Executive Director and then President of HCJB Global (now Reach Beyond). From 2008 until the present, he has been the Latin America Regional Director and MAOL Professor for Development Associates International.
He comes to Paraclete to support and equip Christian leaders. His special focus is those in the least accessible areas of the world, particularly indigenous and oral cultures in Central and South America. He also has a passion for reaching incarcerated men and women with little access to Biblical truth and resources.
David and his wife, Sue, are based in Milliken, Colorado. They have three daughters, one son, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. They are also in the book Tony: Our Journey Together by Carolyn Koons. In his free time, David enjoys reading, motorcycle riding, computers, cycling, walking, hiking, and soccer.
