Throughout the last 22 years of marriage, my lovely wife, Connie and I, have worked intentionally to love and serve those whom God places in our path. In fact, when it comes to my family, we often talk about how we love being with people…you might say that we’re “people” people. We simply love following Jesus by loving people. People long to be valued, find significance and have meaningful relationships. That’s why I’m excited to be a part of this ministry called Paraclete Mission Group, because it simply aligns with the heart of God to “come alongside one another” in Christ-centered love! Over the years, I’ve served in a variety of ministry roles, attempting to do just that – come alongside others to share the love of Christ. I spent the first 5 years of professional ministry as a youth and children’s pastor in Massachusetts, then was called to serve the next 8 years as a youth, worship, and families pastor in Washington state. My passion was reminding teenagers and parents of teenagers that there’s a special place in God’s heart for each of them! Then, in the summer of 2007, the Lord began to work on my heart and called me out of direct church ministry to make an influence for the lives of thousands of children and teenagers around the world through a ministry called Children of the Nations, serving as a domestic missionary, raising support and living in the US while traveling abroad as needed to invest in the work I was called to do. During my time at COTN, a partnership based, holistic Christ-centered ministry that cares for the most vulnerable children (either orphans or impoverished) in Africa and the Caribbean, I served in two main roles. My first 5 years I managed and coordinated outgoing “Venture” (short-term) mission teams. My role included training team leaders, teaching cultural preparedness, acting as a liaison between teams and in-country staff for all the elements of trips, assisting in emergencies, and debriefing when teams returned home. Shortly thereafter, in 2013, I transitioned into a new role as the International Spiritual Care Director, serving as the main advocate and developer for all things centered on growing in faith in Jesus Christ (evangelism, discipleship, biblical training, curriculum development, standardization, and more).  The main objective was to help in-country leaders raise spiritually healthy children who demonstrated a vibrant and authentic faith in Jesus Christ. Through the years serving in these roles, God positioned me to work closely with like-minded, ministries focused on caring for the most vulnerable. And through those connections and partnerships, I see that God has made it possible for me to expand my influence and impact both the people who need to hear the gospel and those doing the work on the frontlines of sharing the gospel.
