Kevin & Beth Lynne
Beth was born in Manheim, PA, and received Christ when she was 8 years
old. A Godly heritage of many generations in her family impacted her
life and led her into missions. After two short-term mission
experiences, she has lived the past 29 years in Papua, Indonesia. She
served there ten years with her first husband and their five children as
a pilot family until his fatal aircraft accident in 2008. Six months
later she met Kevin, then serving with MAF in a different area of Papua.
After praying and waiting for God’s leading, they married in 2010 and
have now served 15 years together. Their five adult children are now
married and pursuing ministries of their own.
Beth has a passion for living out Titus 2:4 in every place God has taken
her. Ministering to younger women and mentoring them is a real joy for
her. She has learned to enjoy cooking, and loves to use food to create
opportunities for meaningful conversations and debriefing around her
table.
Her life verse was shared by her Mom when she was a little girl.
Philippians 4:13 encourages her that she “can do all things through
Him.” In the 29 years of life spent serving the Lord in Indonesia, she
can look back and see how God has used this verse to encourage and
strengthen her when walking through some hard challenges over the years.
Kevin was raised as an MK (missionary kid) in Irian Jaya (now called
“Papua”), Indonesia. He has a B.S. in Political Science from the U.S.
Naval Academy and served as a Navy SAR helicopter pilot and Flight
Instructor. Though he accepted Christ at age 6, it was during his years
as a Navy pilot that real spiritual growth began. While attending a
mission conference, he realized God was calling him out of the Navy to
serve cross-culturally as a pilot. He received his Biblical training and
aircraft maintenance licenses at LeTourneau University. As a
pilot/mechanic and Director of Safety and Quality in MAF he served for
24 years before coming to serve as a Paraclete associate.
Together, their work in Papua will center on strengthening and
encouraging those already faithfully serving. With EYA Aviation (part of
Yayasan Lentera), a Papuan-led organization developing indigenous
pilots, mechanics, and leaders, Kevin hopes to contribute through
mentoring, organizational support, possibly teaching some ground school
or helping with English for the aviation context. As a couple they plan
to volunteer with Helimission in logistics, project support, and
administrative assistance to lighten the load for their team in Wamena.
Beth will continue to invest in missionary wives in Wamena and across
Papua through a Titus 2–style ministry of encouragement, discipleship,
and friendship.
