Mick Wilson
Mick Wilson encourages missionaries, primarily from One Challenge (OC) International, one-on-one or in small groups. In 2020, he celebrated his 50th year in in fulltime ministry. In his 43 years in missions, he’s ministered in 16 nations. He and his wife, Michele, are now based in Albuquerque, N.M. where he continues with Paraclete on volunteer associate status.
In 1968, Mick started out as a school teacher and coach in suburban St. Louis, Mo. and then in Chicago, Ill. In 1970, he joined Cru as the metropolitan director of high school ministry in Chattanooga, Tenn. From there, he worked as a youth pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, earned a master’s of divinity in missions at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, then started working for OC International in Germany. He’s also worked for OC in California and Colorado Springs. In 1998, he joined Barnabas International to minister to missionaries around the world. Specifically, he’s facilitated Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills workshop for missionaries. In 2007, he joined Paraclete to continue to come alongside missionaries. He has ministered to missionaries from Mission to the World, Presbyterian Church in America, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Evangelical Free Church and the Southern Baptist mission board.
Michele has served as the senior vice president of human resources for Focus on the Family, has been chairman of the board for OC International and was one of two representatives to the OC Global Alliance of 14 nations. In 2015, she began working as the HR director for Faith Comes By Hearing.
They’ve been married for 51 years. They have two married children (a son and a daughter) and three grandchildren. In his spare time, Mick likes to walk and hike.
