We love helping missionaries be personally healthy and effective in their ministries, and we’re passionate about preventing unnecessary casualties. My ministry focus is providing care and counseling, equipping and encouraging missionaries through debriefing, pastoral counseling and coaching. Alie loves to join me when she is free. She’s passionate about extending grace and helping people grow.
Our Background: Alie and I met through Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1985 and got married in 1986. I had served in the Navy and Alie was a college math teacher. After linguistics training through Wycliffe we moved to Bundibugyo, Uganda (with our two year old Rebecca) in 1991 to help the Babwisi people translate the Bible into their own language. We had barely begun when we realized that Susan (born in 1992) had developmental delays. We had to return to the US to address her needs. Babwisi and American colleagues continued the work and completed the Lubwisi New Testament in 2016. Not wanting to lose the investment we and others had made in getting us to Africa, we decided to use our gifting, training, and experience to help other missionaries go and thrive. While serving with Mission Training International I got my Masters in Biblical Counseling from Colorado Christian University in 1996.
I’ve continued in counseling and debriefing missionaries in settings in the US and overseas with several missions organizations, joining Paraclete in 2016. We happily moved to Raleigh, NC in 2017 to be close to Alie’s family for this season of life.
I’ve been certified as a debriefer and debriefer coach with Le Rucher Ministries since we moved here and I serve as a counselor occasionally at Heartstream Resources Intensive Care programs. I meet with missionaries from home for consulting and debriefing, but I still love to travel to serve missionaries where they live.
While Alie loves encouraging missionaries with me, she is still Susan’s primary care-giver, so she sticks closer to home, tutoring math through her private tutoring, online and in our home.

Our Financial Statements have been audited annually since 2013 by an independent national accounting firm. Paraclete is registered or exempt from charitable solicitation registrations in all states that require it.

How We Use Your Information

Paraclete Mission Group uses your information to help you complete a donation, communicate back to you, and update you on ministry activity and results. We use credit card numbers only for donation or payment processing.

How We Protect Your Information

We use industry standard safeguards to protect your information. We protect the security of credit card transactions using a number of measures such as encryption, access controls, network firewalls and physical security. Card numbers are never stored on our premises in any physical or electronic form. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you send to us. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other security measures.

We Do Not Share Your Personal Information

Paraclete Mission Group will not sell, rent, trade or lease your personal information to other organizations. We hold the identity of donors confidentially. We will use your information only to further the ministry purposes of Paraclete Mission Group. We will not send you mailings on behalf of another organization.

Removing Your Name From Our Mailing List

We will honor your desire not to receive mail from us if that is your preference. Please contact us if you wish to be removed from our mailing list. Donors with an online account with Paraclete Mission Group can establish and change their communication preferences, print receipts, make one-time donations and set up recurring automatic donations. If you choose not to have an online account you have the same degree of control when you call or write to tell us of your preferences.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
