The Gift of God’s Word: French Bibles for Church Leaders
Several of our supporters have asked how they can give specifically towards providing a Thompson Chain Reference Bible for those pastors and leaders participating in our seminars in French speaking Africa.
As you know, we present all workshop graduates with their own Thompson Study Bible. With it, they can continue to practice the study skills and message preparation methods they have learned during the training. Your gift of $25 covers the cost of providing one French Thompson Bible to one pastor or church leader in Africa.
The Thompson Chain Reference Bible, with its many resources, becomes a cherished study tool for the pastor. It includes:
- Over 100,000 topical references
- Over 4,000 Chain Topics
- Updated Archaeological Supplement with photos and maps
- Outline studies for each book of the Bible
- Journey maps and Bible harmonies
- Biblical Atlas
- Bible Book Outlines
Without minimizing the importance and need in Africa for social and community needs like clean water, caring for orphans, refugee settlement . . . all good avenues through which the Gospel can be proclaimed, lasting change in any society is dependent on the changed hearts and lives of the individuals within that society. God has called the African church to reach the hearts of those who don’t know Christ and to build them up in their faith to impact their families, clans, villages, and nation. But when Biblical illiteracy and spiritual immaturity exist the potential for the church to be “salt and light” is diminished.
The training offered on the use of the Thompson Chain Reference Bible is one of the most valuable seminars for training church leaders available. So few leaders in Africa have access to a wide range of study tools and even fewer to formal theological training. This seminar responds to the urgent need to provide reproducible training to pastors, elders, and other church leaders. Once they master the basic inductive study tools provided by the Thompson Bible, these church leaders are well on their way to feeding themselves spiritually so that they can better feed those in their local churches.
