Paraclete associates were often change agents in their former missions organizations who themselves eventually needed a change. But when they come to Paraclete—a “strengths-celebrating environment”—they find a welcoming place to both grieve past losses and grow into new ministries, said a former missionary aviation maintenance technician turned Paraclete associate, leadership consultant and academic dean.
“How therapeutic it was in the pain we were going through in the departure to enter into a ministry with a lot of other people who had similar journeys,” said Dave Bochman, who spent 27 years in missions and leadership in Latin America, Central Asia, Europe and the States before eventually joining Paraclete. “There’s a lot of ‘me too’ in Paraclete that creates a healthy environment to be honest and to wrestle.”
Paraclete has given him a way to teach leadership skills to nonprofit leaders from countries around the world.
