Paraclete Mission Group may a perfect fit for those whose giftings and experiences just don’t fit in other mission organizations. And it’s led by a healthy, talented, passionate leadership team, said Kim Thompson, Paraclete’s newest human resources team member.
She and her husband, Bruce, have served for more than 20 years in various organizations in Latvia and in the States. With Paraclete, she enjoys the “freedom to serve where God puts us.” Bruce who drives a truck transporting medical supplies, is a good friend to his fellow middle-of-the-night truck drivers. Kim has led ministries and trained, mentored, and developed women in the States and overseas. And now she’s the first point of contact—“a friendly face and welcoming voice”—for new Paraclete applicants, many of whom have years of missions experience, but are considering a change.
“They may have been in this missionary spot for 25 years and it’s terrifying to make a change,” she said. “I think God is using Paraclete in a very strategic way. We have such awesome people coming into the organization.”

What a fantastic roll for Kim! When I first arrived in Latvia, Kim and Bruce took me under their wings. Even though I had an apartment set up and ready to go, they invited me to stay with them to acclimate for a bit. Kim made sure to contact me regularly, just to see how it was going, and if she could help me with anything… even though this was not her “job” at all. She’s now a dear friend! Love you Kim! Keep on serving!
