Jason & Shannon Pittman
Jason and Shannon Pittman, based in Corvallis, Oregon, are international campus ministers with more than 30 years experience serving amongst collegians on the secular university campus. They specialize in hospitality, homestay, evangelism, discipleship, training, equipping, coaching, leader development, mobilization, and care with students, staff, and faculty from around the world.
They have a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and desire to walk in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, bringing glory to God in their life and ministry. Jason came to faith in Christ through the ministry of Youth for Christ: Campus Life and committed his life to the Lord shortly after enlisting in the United States Navy. Shannon has known the Lord since she was a young girl and came to faith through the ministry of the local church. Together, they are committed to serving Him, raising a godly family, and impacting this generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Shannon has ministered alongside Jason for 20 years as they reach domestic and international students at Oregon State University. She focuses on support and hospitality. They have hosted more than 30 international students in their home over the last 15 years. Her passion is to engage the nations within the arena God has placed her—assisting Jason in his work while also teaching full-time in a public school. She earned an MA in teaching and then homeschooled their five children up through 8th grade. When their youngest entered high school, she retired from homeschooling and joined Baker Charter School’s teaching staff.
Jason and Shannon were married in 1996 and have four adult children, two of whom are married. They love to travel, meet people, and discover the cultures of the world. They regularly host international students in their home for meals and homestay. At dinner time, they often have more than 10 people around their table. They are adventurous lovers of the outdoors, backpacking, camping, and road trips. Jason has a strong interest in maps and photography. Shannon enjoys drawing, reading, hiking, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, and pickle-ball.
